How to do fresh one-time registration (OTR) on the new website?

One of the most important things that you need to do on the new website is to do a fresh one-time registration (OTR). This is because the OTR that you have done on the old website is no longer valid on the new website. The OTR is a mandatory step that you need to complete before you can apply for any SSC exam on the new website.

The OTR allows you to create a unique registration ID and password that you can use to log in to the new website and access the online application system. The OTR also allows you to save your personal, educational, and contact details that you can use to fill the online application form for any SSC exam.

To do a fresh OTR on the new website, you need to follow these steps:
  • Visit the URL https://ssc.gov.in/ and click on the “Register Now” button on the top right corner of the home page.
  • Fill in the basic details, such as your name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email ID, etc., and click on the “Submit” button. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number and email ID to verify your identity.
  • Enter the OTP and click on the “Verify” button. You will receive a registration ID and password on your mobile number and email ID. Note down these credentials and keep them safe for future use.
  • Log in to the new website using your registration ID and password. You will be redirected to the OTR dashboard, where you can see four tabs: Basic Details, Additional Details, Contact Details, and Photo and Signature.
  • Fill in the additional details, such as your category, nationality, identification mark, etc., and click on the “Save and Next” button.
  • Fill in the contact details, such as your address, state, district, pin code, etc., and click on the “Save and Next” button.
  • Upload your scanned photo and signature as per the prescribed format and size, and click on the “Final Submit” button. You will see a confirmation message on the screen.
  • Download and print the OTR confirmation page for your reference.

You have successfully completed the OTR on the new website. You can now apply for any SSC exam on the new website using your registration ID and password.

What will happen to the old website?

The old website of SSC, i.e., https://ssc.nic.in/, will continue to be accessible for some time. However, the old website will not be updated with any new information or notices by SSC. The old website will only be used for accessing the various functionalities related to the exams that were conducted or applied for on the old website.

For example, you can use the old website to download your admit card, view your answer key, check your result, etc., for the exams that you have applied for on the old website. However, you cannot use the old website to apply for any new exam or to access the OTR system.

Therefore, it is advised that you switch to the new website as soon as possible and do a fresh OTR on the new website. This will help you to stay updated with the latest information and notices by SSC and to apply for the upcoming exams on the new website.
